Hola familia!
Well sounds fun in Utah! It is starting to get cold here but only in the nights. and mornings. The days are still really hot so a lot of people get sick but so far i feel fine. This week was fun with Elder Cordova! Crazy that i am almost to 10 months in chile..lots of missionaries are finishing their missions now and the mission is going to change a ton because a lot of home and a lot of new ones come! so thats cool i guess haha i hope someone i know can come to chile santiago Norte! We are already almost in may! Wow.
Well this week was slow at the beginning. Thursday was decent, but still we were in the street a lot. But friday, saturday and sunday started and it was crazy. We were running from lesson to lesson and doing a ton of stuff! I was awesome. I knew we worked hard the first part of the week and so the lord blessed us in the last part of the week. and like you can see in the picture, the members here are so awesome and they gave us 2 chile jerseys! I was amazed when they gave it to us. so thats just a bonus!
We had one of the coolest experiences in my mission last night. We went to teach an investigator that is going to church a lot, but we can only teach her saturday and sunday because she works in a house watching kids and cleaning for the whole week. We asked her if she had read more in the Book of mormon and she had read 11 chapters! she explained to us clearly about the tree of life and lehi and nephi and even ismael! a member who was there with us said he never taught anyone who understood the book of mormon so fast in his whole mission. I asked her if she believed that the Book was true and if jose smith was a prophet and she said that now she knows that it is true. she didnt know before but now she knows for certain. I was so happy when she said that, i literally felt God´s love for her and for me and for all of us. I saw the change in her life and i feel an even stronger desire to share with everyone and change their lives. I know this church is true and that the Book of mormon was translated by joseph smith by the power of God. I know that the priesthood is found in this church and that we can follow a latter day prophet of God. I dont know why i didnt share these things with my friends before. I regret it now and for any of you that are reading this wants to know why I know these things or want to feel the same happiness that i feel, please find the missionaries in you neighborhood or a friend who is from the church or visit lds.org and read the Book of mormon. I love the mission and i love my Savior who died for me, but rose the third day. I love all of you and want the best for you. and i leave my testimony in the name of Jesus Christ, amen.

A New Companion!

Hola familia como esta? koman u ye?
That second part is kreole haha how are you? wow so first off, shoutout!
Happy Birthday Dad (tomorrow)!!!!!!!! You are so old now. but thats okay, you dont show it.
Congrats Alli! Thats awesome you graduated BYU!
Katie and Sid, dang it, have fun in Europe.
And all the accountants in the US, congrats for surviving tax season.
Well it kills me that you just told me that Grandma`s cancer is back..i didnt see that coming. But I have faith in God´s plan for us and His power. If God wants to take the cancer from her, He will bless the doctors and her body to recover, but we dont know His ways and His plans. I know i will see Grandma, and every single one of you again in this life, or the life to come if we just follow our Creator and Savior, Jesus Christ.
This week was one of the best weeks every. We had a Conference Saturday with Elder Oaks, his wife, Elder Zeballos and his wife. Elder Zeballos is the Chilean Seventy that spoke in General Conference. It was awesome and they said we need to remember who we are and the eternal plan that God has. We need to convert ourselves to Christ and not to the Church. We got to shake their hands and it was so awesome to be in the same room with him. Then, Sunday, he came to our stake and talked with Elder Cabrera from the Seventy too. He said the First Presidency and 12 Apostles are going to talk more about the Sabath day and the Sacrament this year. He said ''Lets return the Sabath to the Lord''. It was so awesome. And an experience that happened: he stopped talking for a few seconds and said something like ''as the Lords servant, im required to follow the Spirit and act upon his promptings. so i feel inspired now to ask my wife to come up again (she had already talked) and share what she is thinking.'' She got up almost crying and share a scripture that she was thinking about and it was obvious that she was wanting to share the scripture and her thought. Wow the Spirit is so real and talks to us. In her talk, the Sister Oaks, invited us to write down our feelings and not just the words. I talked with like 5 people about the conference afterwards, and we all learned something different in the Conference. the Spirit tells us what we need for our lives.
Ya so we had changes today...so my companion got called Wednesday last week saying that he was going to Easter Island! So Elder Williams is waiting for his plane to go there now! And Im with Elder Cordova! Hes from Peru and i love him so much cause i already knew him! I watch him be born as they say it in the mission haha that just means i was in his district when he started in Cerro Navia where i was before. His trainer was my District leader and we did exchanges before! There is the new pic with us in our house now and the old pic i took like 3 months ago in Cerro Navia! Hes awesome. Hes been in the mission like 4 months. I told him in the morning that we were going to be comps and then it happened! And when we were in the office i saw 3 people from Galvarino! A member and his daughter came to say bye to another Elder who is going home and another member that i helped reactive drives a taxi and he actually took us back to our house!! That was so awesome. It was a sweet week, i loved it.
I love you guys, hope all is well!

HOLA MAMA Y FAMILIA,
wow well this is the week when Elder Oaks comes! Saturday with Mission North and sunday with the Quilicura Stake! We are already in the last week of the change...wow 5 week flown! Ya so with that photo at lunch...we were just really full haha and i dunno we just mess around in lunch with the 4 missionaries so i laid on the ground and elder williams put his head down on the table. we are just full and tired haaha. But thats legit that Alli is going to Idaho but good luck with the cold...
So this week we have a Noche de Hogar which is just Family Home Evening for the Ward and we taught about the apostle to get ready for the conference with Elder Oaks. It was pretty sick and quiet a few people went. We also a Jehova Witness. but that is just a random fact lol. And we taught some Haitians and they gave us food that they were making. Guess what it was. Rice with chicken, but we ate some part of the chicken that i didnt recognize and the chicken foot! haha it is legit just bone and skin but oh well...
I really dont know what we did this week, im kinda tired right now haha we just played volleyball and frisbee with the Zone. There´s a family here that says you guys can stay with them if you come to pick me up haha, which would probably be good cause where they live is basically our neighborhood and there is nothing dangerous at all. but thats a long time from now so dont worry bout it! Ya i love you guys so much and we are doing what we can here.

Happy Easter!

Hola familia!
Happy Easter and the real birth of Jesus! What an awesome week. Well to answer questions, basically everyone here watches it (conference) in the church in the stake center that just happens to be our ward building! And there was a room for English and for French (because Creole doesnt exist for translation) for the Haitians! Yes, we watched all the sessions and for the time change, we watched at 1,5, and priesthood session at 9 at night! Wow we got home at like 11:20 because a member drove us. Otherwise we would have been walking so long haha. And Elder Zeballos who talked from Chile, is part of the South American South Area and he was with our mission for the Christmas devotional and we all shook his hand :) haha hes awesome.
But the conference was soo awesome! They talked so much about Familes and the Temple and missionaries/reciently returned missionaries. And there is going to be a temple in HAITI!! There were like 5 hatians there watching when they announced it and one who is a return missionary from Haiti said that he is going to go back to Haiti to work on the temple and that is all he wants. I wish you guys could meet some Hatians, They are here in Chile looking for a better life because of the earthquake in 2010 and they are working all day long every day just to get on here, even when they were doctors and laywers and accountants in their home country. They have to learn spanish, when they all already know creole and french, and most of them know english too. Its amazing, and their country deserves a temple. We have one hatian investigator in the conference! I dont know if i told you but when we teach anyone from Haiti, we go with an ex missionary (other who served in Haiti and has like 5 months in Chile) and he helps us teach in Creole. He has so much faith, he talks with everyone and invites all the haitians he sees to listen to us and to go to church. He is so awesome! We know so little of their language but we still can feel the spirit in the lesson and we know that they do too!
Well this week we had Zone Conference too so there was a ton of conferences and not a lot of time. But we learned a lot in the Conference with Presidente Videla and Hermana Videla. This time here has flown, we are already in the fifth week of the change..and two more weeks until the visit of Elder....OAKS! We confirmed that it was him that is coming to Chile so thats awesome.
I love you all and miss you! I hope you are going to the temple and doing everything the prophet has asked us too. My request from all of you now is a picture of you and your husband/wife (if you have one, if not, return missionaries, get married already lol) at the temple going for a session! I know this is what the Lord wants us to do because He told us through His prophets this weekend. Love all of you, que estén bien for lack of words in english sorry.

And pictures from random parts in the sector lol a sketchy road we decided to walk to go to church instead of the normal way and Valle Lo Campino Hill.

a few words he wrote to Curtis:

Conference was awesome!! Wow it went by so fast i cant believe that it ended. I feel like every session was 20 minutes. The prophet didnt talk a lot but of well. There were a lot of good talks by Seventy members and everything. Did you hear the people yell no against the sustaining of the prophet? crazy but what can we do..
Cesar and Carito are two recient converts that were baptised like just before we got there. They are peruvian and we ate lunch with them that day that you saw. It is a juice made with honeydew, not kiwi. It was the first time i tried it. They are awesome, that family! and we are teaching cesar´s sister now who came from Peru like 3 weeks ago!
